Southern food means different things to everyone! Fried chicken? Whole hog bbq? Shrimp n’ grits? Cajun gumbo? For me, southern food is 100% about my local farmers, cheesemakers, butchers and food artisans. My southern food is all about ingredients. It is chickens lovingly raised on a small farm right over the mountain, it is wildflower honey hand-harvested from bees kept right down the road, grains milled in an old church halfway between here and Asheville, and it is European-quality goat cheeses made by a young chef right here.
I hope you’ll join me today as we explore these makers and their beautiful ingredients that make up my dream meals here in our south during a cooking class + lunch where we’ll cook, learn, laugh, and eat…y’all :)

cooking classes + creative workshops
+ Cooking classes and creative workshops are always small, hands-on, laid-back, focus on what’s in season, and culminate with a festive, shared meal.
+ Once purchased, your class or workshop tuition is non-refundable, but you may have someone attend in your place if you are unable to attend.
+ If the class or workshop must be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of the Barn, you will have the choice of scheduling a new class or workshop or receiving a complete refund.
+ The Barn is surrounded by hills, grassy areas, rocks, and changes in elevation. Please dress appropriately, comfortable footwear and an extra layer of warmth is recommended.
